About me

Am Sandra Camps Ocaña, a journalist who has always been passionate about social issues. My professional career has led me to collaborate with various radio, press and television media. I have written for Diario 16, El País Semanal, La Clave or la Vanguardia but I have also made reports and documentaries for TVE, TV3, Canal +, Deutsche Welle or SFB (Sender Freies Berlin). In radio I have worked for Cadena SER or ORB (Osdeutscher Rundfunk Berlin Brandenburg), among others. And I currently have two programs on RNE, En Primera Persona since 2008 which is now broadcast on Radio 5 and for three seasons also the podcast Construyendo Memoria on RNE.

I am the author of the books «Silenced Voices" and "Letters for freedom», works that reflect my social commitment to give a voice to those who do not usually have one. And I have collaborated on other collective publications, always with a social nuance.

Throughout my career, I have had the honor of receiving recognitions such as the King of Spain Prize for Journalism in 2006, the Candel Prize in 2004, the Reina Sofía Prize against drugs, among many others.

Current director of the program “In first person” on RNE on Radio 5 and the podcast “Construyendo Memoria”. I directed the program “El Locutorio” on RNE, Radio 4, obtaining the Francesc Candel Award and the program Voces Silenciadas with which I was awarded the King of Spain Award for Journalism.

I have collaborated with several media such as La Clave, La Vanguardia, Diario 16, Mercurio Magazine or El País Semanal. Author of the books "Silenced Voices" and "Letters for Freedom."

Collaboration in reports for German television stations Deutsche Welle, ORB, Autonomous Television and SFB, as well as for the Autonomous Channel of Berlin-Brandenburg. Between 1996 and 2000, I was a correspondent in Berlin for TVE.

Documentary «Yago»: 2007 Tiflos Award in the digital press category and 2007 Talent Award, video category. Other documentaries: "Ciudad Refugio", "The Odyssey of Volunteering", "Voluntari'em" and "A World at Your Feet", among others for RTVE.
